You are invited…The 2025 Summer Sprint Spectacular

What is the Summer Sprint Spectacular?

  • It’s USA Swimming’s Summer 2025 Block Party National Virtual Challenge! There are two choices- one for short course and one for long course. Do one or both!

Who May Participate:

  • Teams in the Block Party pilot. AND- teams interested in joining the pilot—> apply HERE. All USA Swimming teams may join the pilot.

How to Participate:

  • Go to your USA Swimming Club Portal in SWIMS and sanction a Block Party Meet to take place anytime in the months of June or July.

  • Athletes qualify to be included on the Summer Sprint National Leaderboard in two ways:

    • Long Course: by swimming all of the LC 50’s in one meet (free, back, breast, fly). To qualify- swims must happen in the months of June and/or July and the 50’s must be swam in one meet…your format is up to you (you can offer any other additional events) Score will be an aggregate 200 IM.

    • Short Course: by swimming the SC 50 freestyle and 50 backstroke in one meet. To qualify- swims must happen in the months of June and/or July and must be swam in one meet. Score will be an add up of the two strokes.

  • Summer Sprint Spectacular National Leaderboard: Athletes 6 and under, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 and over, will be ranked by combining the times of the swims. Lowest time wins!

  • Heed the mission! Simple, FUN, accessible- a chance for swimmers of all ages and abilities to shine- but ESPECIALLY those kids who are still falling in love with the sport. Let’s get a Summer Sprint Spectacular under their belt- and watch what happens to your team’s growth and retention.

Be Creative!

  • You can run this competition during a practice! Be sure you legally time (3 watches/lane at a minimum) and officiate per the Block Party officiating requirements. (remember- you may use either USA Swimming Certified Officials in the MR, AO, ST roles- OR- USA Swimming Coaches may cover those roles.)

  • HAVE FUN with it- music, decorations, use the color page and hold a coloring contest!

  • Run the event as a fundraiser for your team!

  • Summer Pool Party + Swim Meet= AWESOME!
